Perforated Appendix with worms.

A 21-year-old lady came to emergency with complain of pain abdomen and fever. On examination there was severe tenderness of her lower abdomen. CT abdomen done was suggestive of acute appendicitis. She was posted for Laparoscopic Appendectomy. On entering abdomen, Appendicular perforation was seen with worms crawling out of perforated appendix. Appendectomy was done and thorough wash was given. Postoperatively she was started on deworming therapy. Patient responded well to treatment and was discharged on 2nd postoperative day.
